Kirby Lyle is a Nashville based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. His musical passions infuse folk, alternative, and Americana styles. Lyle’s songs are ripe with exciting, genre defying arrangements of unique melodies, instruments, harmony, and lyrics that are both poetic and relevant.

'Change Is Hard' is Lyle’s second solo EP. It is a protest album for those who yearn, strive for equality, seize the day, and mourn our collective failures. These eclectic songs are written for everyday people struggling through extraordinary times. They are calls to action- Live your best life now! Help others achieve what we all deserve! Lyle invokes our inner angels and demons to heal ourselves, to reconcile strangers and loved ones, to be held accountable for the betterment of our shared world.

Lyle is a champion of the Nashville music scene. He has spent the last five years immersing himself in creativity, performing within the best songwriting communities, he collaborates with top caliber and Grammy winning players, writers and artists.

Having embraced sobriety since 2021, Lyle credits music with not only saving his life, but for perpetual inspiration and healing along his journey. His art evokes the genres of 60s folk, 70s rock, 80s metal, 90s pop, and he is also a classically trained cellist, operatic tenor and show choir enthusiast.

Lyle’s career has spanned more than thirty years. His music is heard on the radio and television, and streamed internationally. He’s performed around the country in hallowed spaces like Carnegie Hall in NYC, and in Europe- the Cathedral of Notre Dame. He was a mainstay in the Chicago folk scene for over a decade, and even gained some notoriety in midwestern talent searches in the 90s...

KIRBY LYLE - CHANGE IS HARD (EP)
 - Release Date: January 16, 2026 -

'Change Is Hard' is Lyle’s second solo EP. It is a protest album for those who yearn, strive for equality, seize the day, and mourn our collective failures. These eclectic songs are written for everyday people struggling through extraordinary times. They are calls to action- Live your best life now! Help others achieve what we all deserve! Lyle invokes our inner angels and demons to heal ourselves, to reconcile strangers and loved ones, to be held accountable for the betterment of our shared world.

On the 'Change Is Hard' EP, Kirby Lyle orchestrates an All-Star cast of Nashville players to transform his songs of positive energy into a spectacular album of protest and hope. Grand arrangements of anthems, snappy singalongs, artsy folk, and a bit of ruckusness color the record from start to finish. Produced himself, Lyle uses saxophones, banjos, fiddles, ukuleles, keys, string bass, guitars, mandolin, accordion, percussion, and even a full choir at times to compliment his lush vocal melodies and harmony.

Grammy winning Kyle Tuttle (Molly Tuttle and the Golden Highway) and fellow banjoist Alex Genova (Fireside Collective) bring their notorious five string flare. The multi-talented woman about town, Maya de Vitry adds her unmistakable vocals and Appalachian fiddling. John Mailander (Bruce Hornsby, The Forecast) wails on his violin. Well travelled bassist Ethan Jodziewicz (Sierra Hull, Aoife O’Donovan, Lindsay Lou) adds his personality with versatile classical and fretted bass. Sav Madigan (Lainey Wilson, The Accidentals) layers vocals and picks mandolin on “Equal.” Erika Nalow layers her soulful saxophone into full horn section bliss. Nick Rapley (Lizzie No) locks down the drums.

Change Is Hard. We feel the Songs of our lost Carls and remaining Deborahs. We crave Joy. We hear Wind Chimes ringing truths about humankind. They remind me to remain a Thinking Man. They implore society to brave the storm that will raze and reset the hope for us all to be Equal.

I am not a politician, a policy maker, a proprietor or a governor.  I am an artist and ambassador for positive change. My role in the revolution is to create and share humanity in the most hopeful ways- to congregate with like minded souls and invite disagreement, to receive it with logic and love, to preach compassion, to inspire our best selves and communities."   -- KL
